Q&As about our paid parking lot, Bell's Parking Emporium

We have opened a new parking lot next to our Eccentric Café downtown Kalamazoo. Here’s a Q&A about how parking works in the lot.

How much does it cost to park there?

The first five hours are free with purchases at Bell’s Eccentric Café and General Store.

After that, parking rates are $2 for the first hour and $1 for each additional half hour.

There is a maximum daily rate of $15.

How does it work?

  • Pull into the parking lot off of N. Pitcher Ave.
  • Grab a ticket and park
  • Before leaving Bell’s, get a parking validation
  • Get in your car and pull to the exit of the parking lot.
  • Insert your parking ticket into the top slot
  • Once it’s been accepted, scan your parking validation below.

How do I pay?

There is a machine that only takes credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) or Bell’s validation vouchers. There is no attendant on duty and cash is not accepted.

Where do I get validation?

Parking is validated for up to 5 hours with purchase from the Bell’s General Store, Eccentric Cafe (pub and restaurant) and the Bell’s Back Room. Present your receipt to a staff member downtown, including servers, hosts, bartenders and General Store clerks.

Will all of your parking be paid now?

Our other lots will remain free to park. This is a new, paid parking lot convenient to the our location and within walking distance of other downtown Kalamazoo businesses.

Where is the lot?

The Emporium lot is located on the corner of N. Pitcher and E. Kalamazoo Ave, west of the Eccentric Café.
